Social Media Recruitment is process of using social media platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, by companies to employee people in the form of advertising jobs, recruiting candidates and engaging with employees using social media. Social media Recruitment is now working its way up during the time of pandemic but how a company can utilize the power and be in advantage in using social media for recruitment is needs to be seen by the steps that it can follow allowing it to create a first mover advantage. Sites like Glassdoor, LinkedIn, twitter, Career Arc allows companies to look for the candidate and for people to be the ones to get the desired job application.

It is shown that more than 84% of the companies prefer to use social media for recruitment because it allows them to find the potential candidates who match with the job requirements and 79% of job applicants use social media in their job search to get in desired company.

But for successful recruitment with Social media there are certain steps that needs to be followed by companies and these are:-

1) Choosing the right platform: — In order to use social media effectively, it is important that companies use the right platform that can help them in getting their job availabilities available to vast and right majority of candidates. Companies can use LinkedIn, Career Arc, Twitter and even Facebook as their platform.

2) Build your strong presence over social media:- Companies needs to have their strong presence build over their platform that shows who they are, what are their visions and missions, and what they usually do along with their motives for the society. It helps them in giving out their values and morals for their employees and society.

3) Showcase your work culture over social media platform: — Companies should not just tell about their job opening but also define the work culture in their office and how they work towards in giving best to their employees. It helps in building a trust in the candidate for the goods values and ethics the company has towards work and their employees.

4) Create portal or groups for jobs: — A job portal or group should be created by the companies over their social media platforms that could specifically define all the jobs that the company has previously listed or is listing so that all the job openings should be seen at one place

5) Place job postings: — Companies placing the job posting for which they are hiring should be clear that what job they are having with the brief explanation helping the candidate to understand what job the company is offering.

6) Approach the right candidates:-In order to approach right kind of people, companies need to have clearly state the requirements they want in a candidate so that no other person who is not suitable fill the application should fill it that can be a mess for companies to clear out. With clear instructions only the people with matched skills will be able to fill in the application that will help company to have an ease choosing among applications.

7) Interact with candidates: — Apart from having the resume, Companies needs to converse over their social media with the candidates that can help them in understanding candidates behavior. The conversation can be done in hybrid manner allowing both of them to be formal and informal when the need arises.

8) Make sure to give follow up with their applications: — After getting done with the applications, companies need to make sure to give follow up through their social media or mail that can help candidate know whether they are accepted by company or not with clear reasons. This will give the candidate a picture how he can improve further for job application.

In Conclusion, Social Media has strong presence over people minds and it is mandatory for companies to create the same goodwill and image for themselves on social media that they have physically to hire in the candidate who proves to be greater asset for company allowing it to be different from other companies and take power of recruitment over Social Media.
