Making yourself Job Ready

Making yourself ready to conquer the dream job is not an easy task when you are competing against many other job seekers wanting to take up on that same job. Getting job ready is to eliminate the fear of rejection from the companies and allowing that fear to turn into power of motivation.

For one to be Job Ready and get their hands on their dream job requires whole attention, zeal and learning for the enhancement of the skills to make yourself stand out among hundreds of people for coming for the job.

BUT how can one make themselves job ready? The answers are within the following points:-

1) Know about yourself: — Anyone getting job ready needs to understand about themselves. Before trying to land any job they need to know who they are. Knowing yourself is knowing about your passion, your interests, how and what kind of environment you prefer to work in. Knowing about yourself will help in clear out the confusion and understand in what kind of field you like to work best.

2) SWOT Analysis: — Along with knowing yourself one has to do a SWOT analysis for themselves. SWOT Analysis means “Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats” and one has to know what their strengths are, what their weaknesses are, what could be the opportunities for them and what could be the threats that they can face. With the help of SWOT one will be able to clarify about themselves where they are lacking and what is it that they can do best.

3) Know about company and the job: — Getting yourself job ready is not only knowing about yourself but also knowing about the company and the job you are interested in. One has to make a thorough research on the company and the job beforehand so that if during interview one is asked about the company he/she can easily answers the question.

4) Enhance your skills: — Enhancement of skills is one of the most important part of being job ready because understanding what are your skills and further enhancing them by learning continuously allows to gain the knowledge and work with them so that they can work as an advantage for them.

5) Be confident: — Job ready is not only about external learning but also about the learning yourself to be confident. It is seen that one who present themselves as confident and answers confidently but honestly even if they don’t know the answer to the questions shows that they know about them and they have overcome their fear of doing something wrong

6) Update your resume: — Updating your resume is one of the important aspect to be job ready. Resume acts as face of the candidate to the company and it is required that one should update their resume from time to time so that they can show their achievements from the time period and not show yourself outdated

7) Presenting yourself: — Not only resume but presenting yourself in front of others is what helps to gain more confidence. The way you present yourself shows how you want others to see you and how you actually see yourself. Presenting Yourself includes,

· The way of speaking

· The way how you work with people from different culture.

8) Communication: — Communication is how you listen and respond to others, but if one is not unable to communicate properly, they are not really job ready. Communication is the source of conveying your opinions and thoughts and in order to make yourself job ready, one needs to learn how to communicate properly. Your way of communication shows whether you are ignoring someone or actively listen to them giving the idea how well you work with team

9) know about labor market :- Lastly before entering in the job one has to know about the labor market, they will have to see the employment rate, what kind of jobs are higher in demand and how much are employed to a particular job, and whether they have the job availabilities frequently or not. It shows about how much is the competition in the market and whether with the skills and learning one is able to be one of the employed person or not.

In Conclusion, One has to have a detailed knowledge of company job and the market to know about the interest of jobs and understand about their skills and strengths and weakness to know whether they are actually job ready or not.
